Cet article, quatrième d’une série d’entrevues mettant en lumière les leaders dans le développement de ce domaine au Canada, est une entrevue avec la Dre Gina Wong, figure de proue de la profession de counseling au Canada. Il se concentre sur les réalisations de Madame Wong au cours de sa carrière et sur ses recommandations quant à l’avenir de la profession au Canada. L’entrevue donne notamment un aperçu de la situation actuelle, en particulier dans les domaines de la race et de la diversité, qui limitent la croissance du counseling professionnel.

  • Daniel J. Baucom, Lenoir-Rhyne University

    Daniel J. Baucom is a licensed counselling associate at Modern Era Counseling in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is trained in EMDR and specializes in working with individuals with complex trauma and ADHD between the ages of 18 and 65.

  • Gina Wong, Edmonton, Alberta

    Gina Wong is a registered psychologist in Alberta and is the founder and director of SoulFire: Integrative Counselling, Consultation, and Training Studios in Edmonton. They provide reproductive and perinatal mental health counselling and consulting in Alberta as well as telepsychology services in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec, and Nunavut. Dr. Wong is certified in infant and perinatal mental health and in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and utilizes attachment-focused EMDR as well as other modalities. They work with couples and specialize in counselling racialized adults and caregivers working to break cycles of intergenerational trauma. She also offers a mentorship program for racialized counsellors/academics at various stages to support their professional development and leadership in the field.

    Neal D. Gray is a professor of counsellor education at Lenoir-Rhyne University. His main interests are in counsellor professional identity and supervision.
